A RATIONALE FOR BIOLOGICALLY-BASED EXPOSURE STANDARDS FOR LOW-INTENSITY ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION
The BioInitiative 2012 Report was prepared by 29 authors from ten countries, ten holding medical degrees (MDs), 21 PhDs, and three MsC, MA or MPHs. Among the authors were three former presidents of the Bioelectromagnetics Society, and five full members of BEMS. One distinguiished author was the Chair of the Russian National Committee on Non-Ionizing Radiation. Another is a Senior Advisor to the European Environmental Agency.

WHAT IS IT: A report by 29 independent scientists and health experts from around the world about possible risks from wireless technologies and electromagnetic fields. It updates the BioInitiative 2007 Report.
WHAT IT COVERS: The science, public health, public policy and global response to the growing health issue of chronic exposure to electromagnetic fields and radiofrequency radiation in the daily life of billions of people around the world. Covers brain tumor risks from cell phones, damage to DNA and genes, effects on memory, learning, behavior, attention, sleep disruption and cancer and neurological diseases like Alzheimers. Effects on sperm and miscarriage (fertility and reproduction), effects of wireless on the brain development of the fetus and infant, and effects of wireless classrooms on children and adolescents is addressed. Mechanisms for biological action and public health responses in other countries are discussed. Therapeutic use of very low intensity EMF and RFR are addressed.
WHAT IS NEW: This update covers about 1800 new studies reporting bioeffects and adverse health effect of electromagnetic fields (power lines, electrical wiring, appliances and hand-held devices) – and wireless technologies (cell and cordless phones, cell towers, Wi-Fi, wireless laptops, wireless routers, baby monitors, surveillance systems, wireless utility meters (smart meters), etc.

In the video clip Dr David Carpenter, public health physician, stated that “regulatory agencies” can no longer deny the public health issues related to Smart Meters. Dr. Carpenter is unaware of the real role regulatory agencies play in our society. Many big corporations cite government regulatory agencies in their defense against prosecution for the harm they cause. If the ‘agency’ declared it safe, than it must be so, right? This is called plausible deniability. In the case of the Smart Meter, the electric companies cite the FCC in their defense. Strange since the FCC was not established to evaluate health concerns!
FACT: The polluters hide behind the EPA, Monsanto hides behind the USDA, and Big Pharma hides behind the FDA. The list goes on and on and the story is the same.
Program On Corporations Law And Democracy (POCLAD) exposed the scam that is federal regulatory agencies long ago (1998). Jane Anne Morris wrote a great article for them: //http://poclad.org/BWA/1998/BWA_1998_FALL.html//
How can the American public put a stop to the pollution of our air, water and soil if we don’t understand the obstacles that have been put in our way? We won’t have any success whatsoever unless we expose the regulatory system behind which all polluters and big corporations hide. By the way, the system was also designed to destroy small independent businesses via regulations small business owners can’t afford to comply with.
More from the POCLAD article:
“It is difficult to say which is more discouraging: that the criticisms have changed very little over time, or, that the suggested changes are clearly unequal to the task. Some of the recurring criticisms are that
Government agencies were not created to keep a watchful eye over the public’s interests! In fact, the ‘regulatory agencies’ are doing exactly what they were created to do – advance political agendas, protect big corporation’s interests and eliminate competition!
To protect our health and our natural environment (whether you live in a city or in the country) we are going to have to become active and expose the ‘agency’ system as a fraud and work to discredit them all.
I absolutely understand that many good people are employed by AEP, and so-called government agencies. The good employees are not the problem, the corrupted system is! In fact, the ‘regulatory agencies’ are doing exactly what they were created to do – protect big corporations from liability and eliminate competition! Let’s not forget that corporations “Have no soul to save and no body to incarcerate”. Flesh and blood people MUST control corporations . . . not the other way around. Another business model is possible!
